Estey Ducuara lives and works in Bogotá, Colombia. He is a Plastic Artist and Graphic Designer who studied Fine Arts at the Superior Academy of Arts of Bogotá (ASAB), Faculty of Arts at the Francisco José de Caldas District University. He studied Drawing at the La Manzarda School and specialized in Creation, Communication, and Art Marketing at Node Center for Curator Studies in Berlin, Germany. He also has a degree from the University Nuestra Sra. de Las Mercedes in Graphic Design and Advertising. He obtained a diploma in Color Theory and Packaging Design from the National Learning Service in Bogotá (SENA). He has been involved in teaching for over eleven years.
Currently, he is a member of the Proyecto Faenza collective, which operates in Bogotá. He is the director and founder of CASADUCUARA, an Art Laboratory and non-profit entity that showcases the work of emerging and mid-career Artists. The space he leads is part of the local contemporary art circuit Nodo51.
He has held solo and group exhibitions in Canada, Brazil, Cuba, Martinique, Mexico, and Colombia. His work focuses on the construction of the Latin American identity, the excessive extraction of natural resources, and the observation and conservation of the earth.
